You have a few options that I know of.  If you got an HP DeskJet 500 or 
550C (one of the ones with serial ports), you could hook it up to the IIc 
with no problems.  You could use other models of HP (or possibly other 
brands) if you had one of those Sserial to parallel converters.  The 
problem is going to be software drivers.  The only 8-bit programs that 
support HP printers are PublishIt!4 and the newer versions of 
AppleWorks.If you got an Epson emulation cartridge for the HP 500, that 
would open up more possibilities.
