Software Store=Time Travel?
I was in a store last night, purchasing a game for a friend's Pee Cee for
a Christmas gift. I glanced around, and did a double-take when I saw the
games on the shelf. The first one I noticed was "Wolfenstein 3D". The
name got my attention, so I picked it up and read the description. Hey!
This sounds like the classic Apple ][ game! The game that came out so
long ago, it was released on a modified 13-sector (DOS 3.2) disk which
could boot on either 13- or 16-sector drives. THAT was a VERY long time ago!
I looked around further, in the PC games section, and spotted another
familiar title: Lode Runner. Hey! I remember that one! It was the #1
most popular game in the computer room at my middle-school in 1982! Yet
another "new" game that pre-dates the Apple ][e! Of course, I could never
get the hang of that game...too durned many keys to deal with. I guess it
wouldn't be so bad with a joystick.
I should have seen it coming when the new Donkey Kong game came out last
month. Wasn't that the game that launched Mario's career, ultimately
leading to his domination of the Nintendo world? 8-)
So my question is this: when do the MS-DOS and Macintosh versions of
"Sneakers" and "Spy's Demise" ship? 8-)
