ProDOS filenames are limited to 15 characters total in length.
They cannot contain spaces or any special character symbols, other than
letters, numbers and periods. You must also start each filename with a
letter character. Valid ProDOS filename characters are: A-Z, 0-9 and "."

A number of programs will convert files from DOS 3.3 to ProDOS,
as well a utility included with the freely available the 8-bit Apple II
system software 4.x (available at ftp.apple.com). ProSel and Copy II Plus
are others that come to mind.
If your using an Apple IIgs, a very simple solution is to use
System Software 6.0.x. Just install the DOS 3.3 FST and you can directly
transfer from DOS 3.3 floppies (5.25) to any ProDOS device (5.25, 3.5
disks, RamDisk, hardrive, etc). The Finder will even rename invalid
filenames to copy over to a ProDOS device for you -- it may ask you
first though.
