I also have done this instalation to several Apple 2's, both 2e and
GS. It is great and makes a very slick system. If you buy a flat ribbon
25 pin D shell connecter from RS and fasten it to the ribbon cable you
don't need the extra cable. Observe both the sex needed and get the direction
correct,( ie. pin1 to pin1). All of these have worked with the standard power
supplies including one installed in a 2e with every slot filled and 1 meg
of extra RAM. I have had no problems with any of the systems in over a year
of use.
Last week I posted the pin-outs and power requirements for these
drives for those interested. They pinouts are in no way like a regular
SCSI connector.
