Yes, there is a file called Jpeg Pre-Release that does an excellent greyscale
conversion of JPEGs, but won't let you save them.  There is also a shell
utility (the name escapes me at the moment) that will convert JPEG to SHR and
also make JPEGs, but that process I hear can take over 48 hours!  The Jpeg
Pre-Release by ummm... errr... I can't remember :/ (feels bad because he uses
it all the time) :|  is by far the fastest (about 20 seconds) and best :)
