I have a Zoom 28.8 FaxModem, and while it works wonderfully
under ProTerm, I can never get it to work using my PC Transporter. With
my old AE Datalink 2400, I could easily use it on the PC Transporter
taking advantage of the ANSI. But since I installed this new faster
modem, it would never work.
I can connect at 28.8K with ProTerm easily, but using any of the
DOS communications software, I would connect, and that would be it, I
would never get anything on the screen. I have tried changing around
the drivers in the control panel (in the PCT) and nothing seems to work.
The instruction manual says I should be able to connect at speeds up to
19200, but even that won't work.
I have been told that PCs need a special card to go over 9600
(UART I think), could that have anything to do with it? Regardless, I
have been connecting successfully on the ProDos side at high speeds, so
it should work on the PCT.
I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
