Modem with //c questions

I've come to the decision that, while I'm at school with my IBM, I'd
like to have my Apple //c hooked up at home and be able to dial in to
the school computers. I've got a modem that I'm not using with the
IBM (they give us dataphones here so we don't need modems to dial the
school), and I've got my //c at home. What I'd need is a cable that
goes from the modem port on the //c to a 25 pin connector. I'd also
need a good communications program, preferably available from an FTP
site somewhere. I'd also prefer not spending a lot for the cable,
since I wouldn't be using the computer very often (in fact, probably
only once a week, more during Thanksgiving and Spring Break), so I
wouldn't get much use out of it. Therefore, if anyone knows where I
can get the cable cheaply and where I can get the comm software,
please E-mail me or post (first is prefered, second is acceptable).
BTW, to the person who E-mailed me, saying he builds cables, I
accidentally deleted your address, otherwise I would have mailed you.
I'd appreciate any help that can be given. Thanks in advance.
