Of course a Mac can read ProDOS disks. Just install PC exchange under OS 7.5
or the ProDOS file system extension under earlier versions.
Other ways of transferring the files include the HFS way (IIgs only) or using
localtalk and file sharing.
If you're using Claris software or another kind that uses Claris' XTND file
translators, you can directly import Appleworks files with formatting intact.
This is a neat thing - I've even seen an XTND on the net to import BASIC
programs in their tokenized form into formatted listings in word processors.
If you're not using an XTND capable program, it is left up to the app to do
the conversion. Some do and some don't. If not then the TXT file method is
an option, but there goes your formatting.
