   That's because it's the power supply making the noises on some ROM
01s. I have a ROM 01, and was getting those annoying noises, so I
disconnected the internal speaker and my external speakers connected
to my SoundMeister. I still got the same noises. With the cover off
my IIGS, I could easily veerify that the noises were coming from the
power supply.

   I'd like to get a newer, quieter power supply sooner or later, but
that's lower on my priority list.
