What it definately had: - Resigned casing (resembled Mac IIcx case)
- Built-in SuperDrive 1.44mb
- Built-in high speed DMA SCSI port
- Built-in internal 40mb or 80mb hardrive
- SWIM controller (replaced old IWM)
- 2mb RAM standard
- Stereo-out jack
- Sound-in jack (w/ included microphone)
What it was rumoured to have: - 640x480x256 graphic support with new QDII.
~~~~~~~~ - Support for SIMMs on motherboard
- VRAM and processor cache
- 12+ MHz 65C816 processor
- 128k DOC-RAM (user expandable)
- Ensoniq 5530 Digital Oscillator Chip
- Dual ADB ports
It was supposed to be released during KCFest 1991, but Apple killed it
1-2 weeks before. Obviously someone at Apple decided it would cut into
Macintosh LC sales. Oh well, at least some of the above enhancement
can be done with current ROM 01/3 machines -- just add a RamFast SCSI,
RAM-GS, ZipGS, SoundMeister, SuperDrive & controller, internal HD
and a Second Sight card. :-)
