Ok, a couple of questions about Ultima I GS... Neither is answered in
the documentation.. I did RTFM.
1) Is it completely normal to be attacked in a dungeon from enemies you can't
even see? That is, it seems like a significant portion of the time
(at least 5-10%?), when you get attacked in a dungeon, even if you turn and
face all 4 directions, you don't see the monster attacking you and thus can't
attack it. It doesn't seem to be monsters attacking from afar either...
Usually I can see them by _moving_ a step (getting attacked in the process),
then turning around until I see them.
That one's relatively minor and I could see it as being normal...
2) Now, with this one, please only give me a HINT if it's not actually a
serious problem. I played off and on for a couple of days, not really trying
to get "into" the game. I started doing that today, and realized a pretty
big problem, or else I'm missing something (obvious?)... I am leaning towards
the former, with the way it's appearing.
I go to Lord British, he says to find the Grave of the Lost Soul. I _DO_
find it, and try to enter it.. It gives me a message and raises one of my
attributes a few points.
I go BACK to Lord British, he gives me a couple of strength points, then tells
me to AGAIN go find the Grave of the Lost Soul. I've even actually gone back
and forth a few times for the heck of it, nothing's changing.
Now, as I said, I may be missing something about the levels/attributes in
the game.. I've found a bunch of the signposts, and it appears you can go
between any two and keep entering them, and improve your attributes...
Any _SMALL_ hints or simple statements whether it's working "as it's supposed
to" or not would be appreciated.. thanks..
Overall, cool game... I never got into the original Ultimas very much as I
can't stand mapping.
