Actually, under circumstances I've not bothered to investigate it will
sometimes mess up the parent pointers. Not to worry, ProSel 8/16 can
fix them ;-)

If you try to copy a file with a resource fork Copy ][+ realizes that
this is beyond its 8 bit capability and quits with an error that
doesn't tell you what the real problem is. I tried, as a beta tester of
9.x, to get them to print a message telling the user just what the
problem was since there was an initial message that flashed across the
screen telling you that it cannot copy a resource fork which was almost
immediately erased and  followed by the current message that doesn't
tell you what the real error is. Their answer was to delete the
"flashing" message and leave you with the confusing message.

The message here is, get ProSel and use the "sort" utility to arrange
the directory to just what you want i.e, alphabetical first and then
move selected files to the front, middle, last, etc., etc.
