Yeah, there are a few of us out here still kick'n :) It's amazing
how many times I here the same story; Apple II users feeling isolated.
It's a blast when they find they aren't alone. As for my own computer
future (and it is only my opinion) I have very little interest in
the latest and greatest. As we're rapidly closing in on the
homogenation of the industry I find their offerings rather boring,
expensive, and a road to financial disaster. I bought my son a used
Sega and we have a lot of fun buying games at a 2nd hand store, as
far as application software my IIs will still ballance my budget
faster than I can bounce a check, and I've got enough stuff on the
shelf to keep us busy for years to come. Work's another matter. At
work my IIs still play an extremely valuable role, but they do fall
short in the document processing area. For that we've got the latest
and greatest, so I get to play on them there. I dragged a couple of
our protables home a couple of times, but found we had no use for
them at home since we've already got a IIe and IIGS there, so they
stay at work. Work can buy their own computers, their pockets are
deeper than mine. Heh, heh, we even buy GS's now'n then cause they
make such great versatile workstations in the lab.
Have fun!
