Any LocalTalk (PhoneNET or compatible) cabling works. From what it seems like,
you only have two machines connected (when you do connect them).

The thrououghput from my Quadra 700 over LocalTalk (no other nodes) is a
little faster than from the 3.5" floppy. On a Mac Plus, expect it to be a bit
slower than a 3.5" floppy, but you'll save time from not swapping disks as
much.

Also note that some applications are not "AppleShare-aware". You may not be
able to run some applications over FileShare/AppleShare (e.g. HyperStudio
single-user, WordPerfect 2.1) and you may not be able to save files to your
Mac Plus. Second point--40MB may not be enough for long.

If the 40meg HD on your Mac Plus is external and assuming your Plus is out of
commission, why not get a used Apple II SCSI card (even the slow, old one
works). It'll be more convenient and a lot easier/faster than fileshare. And
the Mac Plus won't be tied up (like you were using it anyway).
