  After all those years, dust bunnies, and all kinds of mousepad gunk
gets inside the mouse and if they get caught in the photoelectric
cells and the slotted wheel, it could make the mouse not very
accurate.

  Sometimes a little gunk, spilled drink, or whatever gets in through
the mouse button and causes it to feel sticky.  Only way to REALLY
clean it is to take it apart and clean it as good as new.
