Disconnect the floppy drives (make sure to power-down first) and
remove all internal slot cards. Now, with nothing connected but the monitor,
turn on the computer. Does the 'RETURN' key still auto-repeat? Is it *always*
the 'RETURN' key that's being held down at cold boot? (ie, you see a continious
bunch of square bracket prompts "]" going down the screen).
You may want to try pressing down on the keyboard connector (connector
socket where ribbon cable leading from keyboard is inserted -- locate B-14 on
motherboard). I also suggest you try removing the RETURN keycap and prying
at the side tabs of the key-spring box.
