        ...but I'd put my money on an HP DeskJet 500.  Works great with
AppleWorks Classic, and the Harmonie drivers for GS/OS are pretty good, too. 
Only B/W, but...

        Also, if you don't need ProDOS-8 compatibility, and you want color,
MacWarehouse (1-800-710-9921) has the DeskWriter 550C (the Mac model, no
built-in text fonts) for $299.  They may also have DeskJet 550Cs, but I
didn't see a listing for them.
