INIT.CD file on binaries

I recently downloaded a file from the Apple binary newsgroup named
INIT.CDA. It had no documentation and had a file type of Temporary
Initialization File. I put it in the /Boot/System/System.Setup folder
and booted. The result was the "Sound of One Hand Clapping." There was
nothing on the splash screen as I booted and nothing when I looked at
the CDA menu after booting. Does anyone have a clue as to what this
file is supposed to do? I've deleted it from my HD for now and will
await a version that tells me what it is supposed to do.

I would mail the author directly, unfortunately, by the time it gets to
my Apple it has lost all knowledge of where it came frome, etc.
