School's Open/Ian vs Jawaid Opinion

Here's my NSHO on some of the topics of discussion around here lately:

School's Open: I agree that profanity is undesirable, but if any
teachers are showing csa2 to their students, they should review and edit as
necessary. The main point is: why would they read csa2 to begin with?
To me, I'd say maybe one post in ten has any value. Some topics I'm
simply not interested in, but most of it is just "noise"; arguing back
and forth, non-informational posting, off-topic drivel, and the ever
popular flame-o-rama. I'm not saying csa2 has no worth at all, but you
sure have to wade through a bunch of crap to get it. As a place to
exchange information it _can_ be great.

Ian vs Jawaid, etc: Everybody is entitled to their opinion, but so often
disagreements degenerate into personal attacks. What a waste of time.
Personal comments are just that, and should be sent in email, if at all. I'm
not a GNO user, so it doesn't bother me at all that Jawaid is working on the
Second Sight card. Some seem offended at that, so attack the SS
project. I think that, as a whole, the promise of the Second Sight has
far more importance than GNO to the majority of the GS community. Face
it, everybody, even the GNO people, has a monitor. One day it will give
out, and then what will we do? The graphics of the GS has always been
one of its biggest weaknesses. The SS card solves both of those
problems, if it lives up to expectations.

As a disclaimer, I'm not expressing these thoughts as flame-bait. I'm not
trying to piss off the GNO people or take sides with Jawaid over Ian. If
you're going to attack me, you'll get silence. If you want to have a debate,
that's great. I'm just a regular guy who calls 'em as he sees 'em.
