Coincidently, I just purchased one for my IIgs last weekend. :)
I bought the Apple Personal LaserWriter 320 which is a PostScript laser
printer which has 2Mb of RAM (upgradable to 8Mb), 16MHz AMD 29005 RISC
processor, AppleTalk interface, 35 TrueType fonts built-in, 4 pages per
minute, 100 sheet tray, sleep mode (will sleep when not receiving data
after 10 minutes), and 300dpi.
The drivers which come with the IIgs system software will support the
PLW 320. You must, however, connect it via LocalTalk.
If you decide to get a PostScript laser printer, you must get the back
issue of GS+ which has the program, LaserBeam. It allows the user to
download PostScript fonts and PostScript files.. a wonderful utility,
indeed!
Even if you decide not to get a PostScript laser printer, I would still
recommend a subscription to GS+ magazine (and disk, of course). It is
a great source of information and programs.
Good luck with your decision. If you have any questions, post or send
email.
