How do you shrink ShrinkIt???

I want to upload ShrinkIt and GSSHK to a local BBS (non-apple2 based) so
how do I do this? The 8bit Shrink It doesn't make self-extracting
archives and the GSSHK ones have resource forks which get messed up when
going over the phone lines to an IBM...
I once tried using a BASIC program called XTRAX I think it was but I
couldn't figure it out...HELP!
