Yes, I have read that. First, it is refering to Avatar and TurboRez. Both
are vaporware. TurboRez is going to sell for >$300 when it is released (I don't
think it will), and Avatar will cost a lot more. With that type of pricing,
and the product no where to be seen, nobody will support that.

But SecondSight is different. First, it works on //e, this alone will open a 
new market since there must be a lot of AppleWorks diehearts out there and
they might be interested in product like this. Second, it is significantly
cheaper than the nearest competitor. Third, it has a higher resolution 
(1024x768x256 vs 640x200x256) so it would be suitable for certain type of
product like page layout. Forth, it is released by a company with proven
track records, selling excellent hardware like RAMFast and discQuest. Fifth,
it would have more third parties supports since companies like Procyon,
Sequential Systems and those irc programmers would of course program for it.
Finally, it is real. It is not vaporware. It is the only solution for
all Apple II owners who believe that their computers should have better
graphics. Bonus: for those which suffers from the old GS monitor, this card
also allows you to get a new monitor cheaply! This reason alone is enough to
make me get one.

So back to SoftDisk. I am positive that this card will be a success. Just
like discQuest. SoftDisk will program for it if there is enough SecondSight
users. So just get one yourself. This is a chicken and egg problem. Now
there is a chicken available, get it so that you can get the egg. Don't wait
there forever for the egg to get the chicken.
