Update: digitised sound on any II
A few people have been making enquiries about IISound V4.0 (the latest and
greatest version of the program which gives *ANY* apple II digitised sound
playback at 11kHz, 2*oversampling) and I am sorry to say that because of
pressures of Univeristy work, I won't be releasing it before November.
On the bright side though, version 4 will include (crosses fingers):
-full DHR sound editing
-3:8 audio compression
-ability to read from mac file resource forks (not compressed snds though)
-versions for the 64k IIE, the II+ and ][!
-the long-awaited driver for inclusion in system/applesoft basic programs
-an entirely new interface, with provision for loading of up to 16
different sounds in memory at once, and instant keying/aborting of sound
playback (so that we may see stock IIs used for sound effect cueing in
(for example) school productions, video editing etc.
Always glad to hear of any suggestions/stories/feedback on this type of thing.
BTW and FYI, IISound v4.0 will be Shareware. I didn't want to have to do this,
but I have put in a lot of time, and would like to get some material
compenstaion for it :) Mail me and tell me what you think the Shareware price
should be for this software!
Also, don't forget that version 3.0 can be FTP'ed from cco.caltech.edu and
grind.isca.uiowa.edu.. it is old code, but it should whet your appetite..
Have fun,
