sounds saving

    Hi, I waswondering  if anybody knows of a program that can be used in 
con junction with the tape recorder(in) to save music onto ram and then 
onto disk to be replayed  again later?
  I tried to write a program in applesoft to do this, but this was  way 
too slow. So I wrote a machine language routine in con-junction with an 
applesoft program that was mush faster at accessing the address for the 
cassette input. However, when I tried to listen to the sounds saved using 
iisound.system, it did not work. There was a lot of static. I hope this 
is not too confusing what I am trying to to do.
