Re: Any Transwarp (//e) users out there?

Thanks for the tip. (I don't even have a manual) I assume this tests
everything, RAM, ROM, etc.... correct?

>The manual says 3.6MHz (near enough to 3.58 I guess) while the self test shows

Ah, I was thinking the bus signal was 3.5MHz. (oops!) This makes sense.

>Pressing ESC disables the Transwarp completely. A poke of 3 to $c074 does the

Cool, I can definately use that! Should I assume a POKE of 1 or 2 will put it
in full or half speed? (I would like to be able to speed it up, as well as slow
it down)

>same. The two switch #8 select the default speed (1/1.7/3.6MHz). A poke of 1 to

Do you mean switch #8 in both switch-DIPs? Like both off is 3.6, one off and one
on is 1.7 and both on is 1? (Maybe it depends on which one is on, when you have
one of each... that may explain the 2.1MHz yours reported in the self test...)

>$c074 will slow the TW down to 1MHz using the TW CPU.

Hmmm... So what I said above is not the case... Does 3 tell it to use the CPU
on the motherboard, and 1 tell it to run from the card at 1MHz? (I want to make
sure I'm reading this correctly) Is there a way to speed up and slow down the
unit? (maybe all three speeds?)

>Yes. The left bank tells the TW which slots have RAM cards (16k/128k etc).

Hmmm... I have a RamWorks II (or is it a RamFactor II?) in the AUX slot... do
I refer to it as slot 3 as one might expect? (it has 1M)

>The right bank tells the TW which slots have slow cards (floppy disks, clocks

This could explain mine refusing to access the second floppy controller when I
moved it down a slot. Thanks! (I thought that *might* be it, as I mentioned...)

>Yes, it shadows all of the m/b RAM (64k), the ROM (16k), the aux RAM (multiple

OK, that explains why all my software only sees the 1M in the AUX slot.

>I bought mine at ICONfest and it only had the manual. I like my Zip chip a

OK, I'm not missing much then. :)

Yeah, but the problem with Zip chips is *finding one!*

Thanks for the help! (now if I can only fix the problem with my Davong HD and
the 65_C_02!)
