This is probably more profitably asked in sci.geo.geology
or sci.geo.eos. The answer of where the images are more
depends on the acquiring sensor and organization than
subject.
As a random shot, you might try this location as extracted
from the sci.geo.eos FAQ. If the FAQ has expired at your
site, I can email you a copy.

Webcrawler is the WWW equivalent of archie. Just as you
can build your own ftp index, you can build your own WWW
index. If everyone does this, performance will degrade.
I have heard that some sites are going to provide the
WWW equivalent of archie so you don't have to, but don't
have any addresses off hand.
