Like TurboRez, you can. It overlays on top of Super Hires, so you can write
your software in normal desktop, but open a window with 256 colours. We
can write Finder extensions like this to "patch" Finder at least.

Yes, if I have Second Sight, this is my first project. :) If I decided not
to get Second Sight, I will write Mandelbrot/2 (guess I would write for
what platform?).

impressive.
