Re(2): Re(2): RE: Apple II on
To heck with finding time to program my Apple II, I gotta get my subscription
to SS-II! Gawd I feel stupid I haven't donr that yet. Life's been so hectic I
don't think I've seen my checkbook in years. Thank goodness my wife knows
where it is.
As for the HyperStudio Star Atlas, the test stack is coming along nicely. I'm
forcing myself to find at least 30 minutes a day to work on it. The test
stack will hold the intro screen and index cards connected to the
constellation cards. Seeing how there are 88 constellations you can see this
is going to be a fair sized stack :) In the test stack only the card for
Orion will be included. Linked to each constellation card will be text info
on the mythology, brighter stars, and interesting deep sky objects. There
will also be a button to turn the lines connecting stars on and off. Once the
test stack is finished I'll have a better handle on how big this stack is
going to be, and how to structure the entire package. Along the way I've got
to write the tools I need to generate accurate star maps. I've already begun
modifying the Tonight's Sky GS code to do that :)
Speaking of astronomy, I'm VERY excited about the VGA card for the GS, and
you'll never guess what for....astronomical image processing. I bought
Richard Berry's "CCD Cookbook" and planned to build a CCD camera controlled
from a IIGS even though the 4 bit graphics were a tad limiting. Now with 8
bit graphics I won't be limited at all!
Have fun!
