Easy. Since lotsa people have SLIP connections or hardwired ethernet 
connections on Macs, it makes it real handy to ftp files to such a machine
and end up with diskcopy image files, which convert easily into real disks.
It is an Apple site after all - do you expect some PC format?
I'm pretty sure that there binhex programs for IBM things. You'll need whatever
program there is for II's to convert the disk images as well.

Sure makes me glad I have a Quadra sitting next to my IIgs...
