Re: ProDOS does not like me !!!

Patching ProDOS--8 for Apple ][ Clones

To Patch ProDOS to run on a Franklin ACE 1000, 1100, 1200, etc.
and probably many other clones and workalikes, use a sector
editor to search for and replace at least the first of the
following byte sequences in the file PRODOS.

     Search for: Replace with:
     -------------- --------------
     69 0B D0 03 69 0B D0 00

     AE B3 FB E0 38 A2 EA EA E0 38

This works with all versions of ProDOS up to version 1.9. It may
also work with version 2.x if your Franklin or other clone works
properly with a 65C02 or 65C802 CPU.

The first patch allows the boot process to complete. This
patch is absolutely necessary. The second patch may be
optional and is explained below.

The second patch causes ProDOS to not see an 80-column
card or extra memory if the patched version is run on
a //e, //c or IIgs. Some software will think that there
is a //e-style 64K 80-column card present when run on a
Franklin, so the second patch prevents ProDOS from
erroneously reporting that there is one in the machine.
