Uploading to Grind
I thought I'd throw something different in the Grind discussion. I'm new the
the 'Net and the limited access I have to the FTP sites is through the Dayton
Area Free-Net via a gopher(?). I hopped over to Grind and took a gander and
really enjoyed looking through the files. One problem I've got is that the
files are all .shk files which I can't DL because you apparently can't set
the binary mode from a gopher, at least we haven't been able to figure out
how. No big deal for me 'cause I can get a lot of stuff from GEnie and I
don't mind supporting their work there. However, I'd like to UL some stuff
I've got and I'd like to figure out how. I'm assuming to get past the binary
problem I need to binscii the files (using GSCII+?) then UL them. If'n I
recall right I enter "D" to DL, but the help screen I get doesn't mention how
to UL. "U"? The weak tie in with the earlier Grind thread is that yes, I'm
the author of the programs (my astronomy stuff). So, am I on the right track,
or lost in left field somewhere.
Jeesh it's weird talking to Apple II users, you don't have to be defensive or
anything :)
Thanks o'plenty!
