Actually, I just saw this in this group the other day.  You can
get on Genie through the internet, via SprintNet.  Just telnet to
hermes.merit.edu and at the host prompt enter "sprintnet-313171"
(sans quotes, of course) and then log on to genie.  SprintNet 
charges apply, but at least you get a fast connection.
