I don't know enough about the PC transporter to make any decent comments,
if the serial i/o is on the card, maybe you should like for the chips doing
i/o. If there is a 16450, consider replacing it with a 16550. They're about
A$15.

I have seen windows run on an 80186, (only ever seen one of these). An old
version may run on an 8088. I don't really know why you'd want to though,
I can only imagine that the performance would be attrocious.
