I bought a IIe card I can say with 100% certainty that it only
emulates the enhanced Apple IIe and _not_ the IIgs. Additionally, the
manual that comes with the IIe card states that only the 'platinum'
5.25" drives will work properly with the IIe card. I discovered that
my 'beige' drives also worked even though the manual says they won't.
So far, no problems.
There exists a software emulator for the Mac called STM (for Stop the
Madness). However, it is even further back on the computer time-line
as it emulates an Apple II+ - extremely well though. You can ftp it
from cassandra.ucr.edu.
So, looks like you're out of luck for now as far as the IIgs goes.
Hope this helps!
