APPLE ][ printers ???

I was wondering does an Apple ][e need a printer card to use and
imagewriter 2.  I've never had a printer and have no idea how to hook one up.
I am thinking of buying one to flesh out a system that I use mainly as a
terminal.

If anyone uses an ImageWriter with a ][e or ][+, HOW ?
