Um, obviously I was not saying that everything with an Apple logo on it will
work on a II. I wouldn't try a nubus video card or Houdini or PowerPC processor
upgrade card in my IIgs for instance. The thing I was saying is that some
things that you think should work may not work if they're not Apple. The
extended kbd thing in this thread is a really good example. Another good one is
postscript laser printers - non Apple ones may not work with the Imagewriter
emulator and that makes them not so useful for II's. But since I have an Apple
Laserwriter, I can do things like print from Appleworks on my //e with
workstation card through an Appleshare print server to the laser with the
emulator downloaded. There are things you want the Apple logo on so you don't
get headaches trying to get your II to work with.
