The HP DW will work on the GS if you have either Harmonie or
Independence (HP printer driver software) but only with GS/OS
software like AWGS (not AW 4.0), Spectrum and GraphicWriter III.  Any
software that uses the System Software printer driver, in conjunction
with Harmonie or Independence, should be able to control the DW.
 
Prodos 8 programs like AW 4.0 and Proterm 3.1 send printer codes to
the printer to control internal fonts.  Since the DW has no internal
fonts like the DJ, nothing happens.  The DW will not work with P8
programs.
