IIgs internal dc fan: question

                  IIGS INTERNAL FAN SOCKET: QUESTION
                  ==================================

I have just upgraded to a IIgs. This is my first question.

Several recent net memos have mentioned problems with overheating in the
IIgs. My IIgs can with a System Saver IIgs which fits externally on the
CPU.

At the back of the motherboard there is a two pronged outlet for a DV12v
internal fan. Can any fan be used? I used a micro fan (1.6" square,
plastic casing, 6 cu. ft /min) in construction of the Hard Disk ][; this
tiny fan might be ideal as an internal blower. Was thinking of hanging it
on the side of the power supply so that it will generate an internal
hurricane...

Will this fan work, or do you need the special Apple internal fan that blocks
a slot?

Please respond soon because I sent an order to Jameco Electronics last
Friday and there is still enough time to request one of these fans to be
added to that purchase order. The fan is small, plastic insulated, takes
low power, and is quiet ---- all well suited for use as an internal fan.
