Vulcan disk upgrade?

I have a 40 meg. Vulcan in a //e.  I love it!  But I'm seeing ads for
210 meg IDE drives for less than $180, and am thinking about upgrading 
the (Wester Digital) drive in the Vulcan to one of these.

My questions are:  How can I do the low-level format?
                   How can I alter the partition block so the larger
                     capacity is useable (I know that ProDOS 8 limits
                     me to 4 partitions at a time, each limited to 32 MB.)
                   Has anyone out there done this (or something similar?)
