printer problem Q

I have a Machintosh II with is conected to a personal laser
writer on an apple talk network using telephone wires.  These
are other Machintoshs on the network as well.  Other machintoshes
see and print fine to the persoan laser writer.  The Machintosh II
also see the persoan laser writer when I go into the chooser.  However,
when I try to print the desktop or try to print a document from word
perfect, it comes back and tells me it can't find the printer I chose
with the chooser.  Any comments why this might be the case?
