It depends on what the Apple II program is doing.  It can continue to
run in background until it needs to draw anything to the screen (such as
printing a char).  I think it assumes you won't miss any screen updated.
(Ahhh... the card uses QuickDraw routines to draw, and is much slower
than a real IIe if you run some programs which always change the content
of the screen....)
