Using a DataFrame 20 w/ a IIgs?

Anyone else besides me trying to use a DataFrame 20 external scsi drive 
with a IIgs ?  I've been hearing stories about how the scsi ID is 
hard-set to 0 and you have to set it via software -- with a MAC!  aack.  
So I need some help, I guess. Thanks.
