Hello,
if you like the game I.O. Silver by Beagle Bros on the Apple II
machines, then you may like my remake Chips.
It is not as good and complicated as the original, but I am improving
it and the result is already good enough for public release.
For the latest update, I used SDL library, which allowed me to port it
easily for AmigaOS 4 ( http://www.hirudov.com/amiga/Chips.php ),
also for Apple MacOS X ( http://www.hirudov.com/apple/Chips.php ) and
Microsoft Windows ( http://www.hirudov.com/others/Chips.php ).
Unfortunately I do not have X86 machine (Mac or PC) and i do not know
if it will perform well on such machine, but on Microsoft Windows the
sound is broken, probably because of endian issues, I think.
On the other hand, on the Windows, the full screen mode works okay,
while on the MacOS X, the screen is not refreshed correctly.
Can someone test on X86 Mac if the game Chips performs correctly now.
To be on safe side, I compiled it only for PPC, but another MacOS X
game by me (King Kong) was compiled as Universal binary and I
am not sure if the sound is okay on non PPC Mac machines.
Surprisingly, the multiplatform SDL library performs best for me on
AmigaOS 4 which is the least supported platform by the SDL library
developers!
Regards
