Hi! I have an Apple High Speed DMA SCSI card sitting in slot 6, and want to
connect an old 40Meg INTERNAL Quantum drive (with the Apple Logo on it) to it.
I have a housing that has a power plug for it, and I had a custom cable made
($15) for a 50pin SCSI Ribbon to 50Pin Centronics. I then hooked that to a
normal 50pin Centronics to 25pin DIN (which then goes into the SCSI card). I
believe the custom cable is not correct; ie. the DMA has a strange pinout. I
can't find any diagrams in the SCSI card's manual, and I could really use the
extra 40Meg...Any help? What happens (when using a terminator between the
custom cable and Centronics/DIN cable) is that Advanced Disk Utilities says
@20000k available, but initialization/partitioning/zeroing fails. The light
does blip (disk access light)...without the terminator, Adv.Disk Utils returns
0k used, 0k available...Thanks!
