"s" isn't an illegal command :) It stands for Step, and is present in
ROM 01 machines too. The difference between the ROM 01 and the ROM 3
is that the ROM 01s don't actually have any code that implements the
step command. The step vector just points to a routine that prints
"Step", I think (or maybe it just bonked at you). The ROM 3s do have a
functional Step command in ROM, so you can do something like 300s, and
hit the space bar to move to the next instruction. You can switch
between the different graphics modes with the "s", "d", "h", and "t"
keys. Return gets you into Trace mode (which is the monitor's "t"
command), and apparently "l" runs the program at full speed. There are
probably other things you can do with it... I haven't messed with it
much, since gsbug is cooler :)
