You must be pretty new :).
Apple II's are the foundation of all of Apple's latest offerings to
date. Without the Apple II line, Apple would not be at the stature they
are at today. The Apple II line includes the ][,][+,//e,//c,//c+, and
the 16 bit IIgs.
All of the Apple II's are 8 bit machines, with the exception of the
IIgs. Unless you've lived under a rock for the entire 1980's, you've
probably seen one of these machines :).
