Since AE is defunct, I don't know if anyone carries it. The upgrade
didn't add any functionality to the card, it was just a speed-up of
(if I remember correctly) about 10%. Note that the upgrade is a
different chip for each size of hard drive and is also based on
8-bit Apples vs the IIgs.
If you can afford it, you may want to purchase a Turbo IDE card
instead. They are reputed (I don't have one) to be much faster
and will work with your Vulcan hard drive. They will also control
a second drive and, when your current platters wear out, the Turbo
IDE will control any replacement IDE drive (reuse the old Vulcan
case and power supply).
The only functionality loss that I know of is that the Turbo IDE
will not allow "pseudo-slotting" to slot 7 from another slot. Unless
you, like I, have a fat memory card that covers slot 7, this shouldn't
be a problem.
