The serial connector on the //c is as follows:
Pin 1: RTS
Pin 2: TXD
Pin 3: Ground
Pin 4: RXD
Pin 5: DCD
For connecting to a printer or a modem:
FROM TO
DIN-5 signal Modem (DCE) Printer (DTE)
-----------------------------------------------
RTS (pin 1) DTR (pin 20) DSR (pin 6)
RXD (pin 3)
GND (pin 3) GND (pin 7) GND (pin 7)
RXD (pin 4) RXD (pin 3) TXD (pin 2)
DCD (pin 5) DSR (pin 6) DTR (pin 20)
NOTE: Pin numbers given for DCE and DTE refer to pins on the
DB-25 connector defined by the RS-232-C standard.
