Sorry if I'm repeating prior followups -- I've been offline *sob*.
Has anyone told 7-bit data breath that 65xxx's have a much lower
clocks per instruction ratio than a lot of other processors out
there? (Multiply 12MHz by about 4 --> 48MHz for a very rough IBM
equivelent {sp}) Even if there are Pentuims out there (Hey guys
let's waste real estate + throw in a proc to switch modes;)
WHO CARES... Take the ARM (86xxx) series uPs-- They were inspired
by the 6502s high instruction ratio and low real-estate simplicity.
So flame me...I'm currently writing this on my $200Aust. 128K 1MHz
Apple IIc. Go on, laugh. You see, for this I don't NEED a CRAY or
a Power PC or a Pentium... This machine meets the needs of what I
use it for, and that's all that really matters.

PS: I do actually program IBMs Macs, Newton, VAX, et al...and enjoy it.
