As a person who runs NT every day, I am afraid that your assertion would 
qualify only as an opinion.

Which six applications?  Were those six applications written to conform to
NT standards?  Were they at least well-behaved Windows apps?  I am afraid that
you should really think about posting stuff like this until you know what you're
talking about because you will get picked apart everytime by people who 
know what they're talking about. 

While it is true that the first release of NT uses many resources inefficiently,
I must say that in sixteen years in the computer industry, I have never seen
a more stable first release of an OS.
